Papers of the American clergyman, author, poet. Biographical and family material, correspondence, memorabilia, including cartoons, church bulletins, financial documents, original drawings, photographs, school and seminary papers, and scrapbooks. Writings include an inventory of prose works, a reviews scrapbook, articles, editorials, fiction, lyrics, and manuscript poems arranged chronologically in notebooks, dated pre-1940-1961. Also included are a large collection of chronologically arranged sermons as well as children's sermons. There are also a number of essays arranged in titled notebooks.

Chaffee, Edmund Bigelow,1887-1936.

Papers of the American clergyman, educator. Chaffee was a Presbyterian minister in New York City. Correspondence, letters to magazines to which Chaffee contributed, notes, sermons, scrapbooks, diaries, and published material. Sermons (1914-1936) include such topics as religion, specifically Christianity, and its relationship to politics, labor, technocracy, war, pacifism, communism, and socialism.

Papers of the American Congregational clergyman (1901-1969) concerned with urban ministry, civil rights, and Christian unity. Collection includes correspondence; sermons; records of the Board of Home Missions of the Congregational and Christian churches, later the United Church Board for Homeland Ministries (1936-1969), and the Consultation on Church Union (1962-1969); memorabilia, including awards, clippings, photographs, and the Douglass-Bartlett family genealogy; and writings.

Fanton, William N.

Papers of the American Methodist clergyman. Consists of Fanton's sermons and their source material, usually newspaper clippings, annotated with dates and places of delivery, all in New York State.

Fisk, Samuel Manchester, 1830-1912.

Fisk was born in Hastings, New York, admitted to the Oneida Conference of the Methodist Church in 1855, later transferred to the Northern New York Conference. The diary of Fisk, as deacon, records travels, preaching texts, and work on the Northern Christian advocate. Also contains comments on families and individuals in his care and circle of acquaintance.

Laubach Literacy International.

Papers of Laubach Literacy International, founded in 1955 by Dr. Frank C. Laubach to address the world-wide problem of illiteracy. Established as Laubach Literacy Fund, the organization later became Laubach Literacy, Inc., and finally Laubach Literacy International; in 2002 it merged with Literacy Volunteers of America to form ProLiteracy. Material in the collection includes audio tapes, correspondence, diaries, filmstrips, financial records, journals, literacy journalism papers from courses taught at Syracuse University, motion pictures, newsletters, photographs, primers, reports, scrapbooks, slides and video tapes.
